Our Story: The Magic in the Kitchen

Meet Dou (Peggy)

Hi there! I’m Dou, though many of my professional friends know me as Peggy.

My story begins in the heart of a bustling Chinese kitchen. As the daughter of a professional chef, I grew up surrounded by the rhythmic chopping of knives and the dancing flames of the wok. To me, the kitchen isn't just a room; it’s where memories are seasoned and stories are served.

Cooking is the Simplest Magic

Now living far from my hometown, cooking has become my sanctuary and my greatest passion. I find immense joy in visiting local markets for seasonal ingredients, designing menus that follow the rhythm of the festivals, and stepping into my kitchen to create what I call “the simplest magic.”

With just a few basic seasonings and mindful steps, flavors have the power to transport us—awakening old memories or whisking us away to unknown lands.

For me, cooking for the ones we love is the ultimate happiness. Sitting down together to enjoy a meal we’ve crafted is how we create our own unique, lasting memories.
